Properly prepared with hours of running behind them, we had team members participating in the half marathon and the 5k race, huffing and puffing from start to finish, rubbing shoulders with other runners, and enjoying the competitiveness, beautiful weather, and the joy the most popular marathon in the country brings!
The Skopje Wizz Air Marathon has a rather interesting background – with the first marathon dating back to 1997, when it was named “Skopje Marathon”, becoming the first international marathon taking place in Skopje. The marathon wasn’t held from 1999 until 2006, and in 2007, the EU ambassador and the Skopje mayor restarted the initiative, and since then, it has become a landmark event – with the number of participants rising year after year.
