Andrew joined Skyscanner in 2009 as a Graduate software engineer with a huge passion for travel, and over the years, he’s worked in multiple areas of the engineering team and now leads this discipline globally.

As Chief Technology Officer, he is responsible for Skyscanner’s software, systems, data, and security engineering teams distributed across 5 sites (Shenzhen, Barcelona, London, Glasgow and Edinburgh) and is also a part of the exec team, working closely with the board on Skyscanner’s long term strategy.

If your goal is to become something, you won’t become it if you don’t stop moving and changing what your currently are. Learn, try, improvise – constantly – and you’ll get there.

Within this role, Andrew provides a balance of technical vision/direction, guardrails for autonomy, a safe and collaborative space for his team, along with a lot of the day-to-day of managing a global business (headcount, budgets, regulation, etc…). Given his tenure, he is also a strong cultural advocate and spends a significant portion of time in recruitment, training, and development to help grow future leaders.

Prior to joining Skyscanner, Andrew was a computer science graduate from St Andrews University and had spent several years working in the Oil & Gas Industry.
