In this Re:Imagine session, we have Gjorgji Gjeorgjievski – Director of Engineering of Snowflake – the company that in 2020 had the biggest software IPO ever! The massive growth was fueled by the enormous innovation done by Snowflake’s ever-expanding engineering team. It grew by 50-60% per year, an unprecedented growth for a software company of that magnitude. Gjorgji will talk about the journey of scaling a small engineering team into a large organization, and all the challenges and fun parts that come with it.

Gjorgji was born at raised in Skopje, Macedonia. During his high school years, as part of an educational exchange program, he moved to the United States, attending Deerfield Academy in MA. He continued his studies at Yale University, where he earned a BSc degree in Computer Science & Electrical engineering.
Gjorgji started his professional career at Microsoft, working on their core database product – SQL Server. Concurrently, he earned his MSc degree at the University of Washington. In 2019 Gjorgji joined Snowflake, where he is currently an Engineering Director for the Data Pipelines organization. In his free time, Gjorgji loves doing various family activities with his wife Tiffany, and three children Brock, Zoey, and Lily.
