In the era when the volume and the speed of information transfer is increasingly valuable it’s very important to understand the technology behind it. It’s the speed of light that enables us to communicate in real time while we are on different continents around the globe. And thanks to that and the silica we were able to use fibreoptic systems as irreplaceable digital communication systems.

In this Re:Imagine session, we have Blagoj Trajkoski, Optical Network Engineer at Google, who will explain the role of the fiber optic networks introducing the concepts of the physics applied behind it. He will walk through one “optical highway” with the accent of the amplification blocks. In the end, you’ll have the chance to look at and hear about some of the latest achievements in this field and the limitation factors.

Join us on 23.01.2023 from 5:00 PM CET for the session to hear from Blagoj himself as he dives into the topic!

Blagoj Trajkoski was born in 1986 in Bitola. He completed primary and secondary school in Bitola, and it was during the days in the Gimnasium “Josip Broz – Tito” when he got fascinated by the natural sciences, especially by Physics laws. Then he continued the applied sciences journey in the telecommunications institute in FEIT Skopje from where he received the bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

He gained the first practical experience in the field of Fiber Optic Networks in Slovakia, in Sylex, a company which specialized in production and quality improvements of optical network components. Since then, he has been working in several different applications of Fiber Optic Networks in Neotel Macedonia and in Google Ireland for over 14 years now. His recent focus are the DWDM networks and research of the linear and non-linear effects as well as the Raman amplifiers.
